What, no iris?! Brace yourselves for some poppies. I love the textures in poppies and their long sinuous stems but they are a bear to shoot in even a mild wind. This one is right outside our front door and I really liked the stem on it in particular. The flower itself was weighed down by a dowsing from our sprinkler. I thought this DOF was the best compromise to show detail in the stem and petals. All comments welcome and more to come. >=))>

Hi Bill! I like this comp, particularly the water drops. And that's one hairy stem! Nice job on the light and a details. The DOF works very well for me.

I like the comp as is. There is another image lurking in there by cropping down to just above the large drop on the stem and the base of the OOF stem where it enters the image on the left.

An unusual view - but well seen, I'd say. :toast: I like the combination of colors, and the water droplets are great (as they always are). Very nice, I like it.

Love the dof decision Bill. Outstanding composition and fine detail. Masterful image per your usual standards.

I love poppies. I'm looking forward to more of these.

Bill, I love the gorgeous colors in this image along with the "hairs" on the stem and the water drops. I also see the other crop that Bob mentioned and think that would look terrific as well.
