I missed this image the first time I sorted these. Luckily I noticed it yesterday. It's now my favorite from this trip. This is another taken while scouting with David Cobb for the Olympic National Park workshop.

This is four exposures blended together using my advanced photoshop blending techniques. I am producing a video detailing these techniques in the next few months, I'll announce it here when It's available for sale.

Canon 5D II
17-40L + Polarizer

Beautiful, Zack! I love the orange/blue contrast. My eye bounces around between the FG pool, the seastack and the arch. Definitely dynamic.

Not sure why there aren't more comments

Very nice Zack wonderful display of correct looking contrast in this image so your technique seems to work very well. Oddly the one thing I find less harmonious is the reflection of the two trees on the right side of the image. I'd prefer a positional adjustment to lose them as they steal some attention away from the sun peeping around the main sea stack. But otherwise teriffic.

Wicked shot Zack. Would have been cool to get that star flare in the reflection as well...not too many of those floating around, especially of this quality.

This is a very dramatic image. I like the pool and the flow lines leading into the pool. Excellent.

I totally understand why this is your fave from the trip, I think this is MY favorite from your trip and I haven't even seen the other images, lol! Washington and Oregon coast images, when captured correctly such as this, are gorgeous, and your exposure blending is also a big part of the equation. Definitely a triple-toast image!

I really like this image, Zack. The details of the foreground pool add a lot of interest - the hint of golden light, the reflections, and the water trails in the sand. A beautiful image all around. I do think the little keyhole from the arch (?) is a little distracting since it competes with the sun for attention, but this is an incredibly minor point.

Delightful, wholly realistic lighting and fine composition. Its as one would see it with the naked eye, which in my view is what its all about for landscape photography.

Nice ocean scene. The puddle's reflection and rock is what does it for me. Blend looks very natural. :toast:

This is awesome! It shows why the magic hour is...MAGIC! Any nits are minor, but I agree with Ian on the trees on the right. In fact, the wide angle makes the tree reflection lean, giving the impression that the image is not level. That's an illusion of course, and I don't know if a slightly different comp would eliminate it. Definitely minor and this is a wonderful image in so many ways. :toast:

Here is a version with the wide angle distortion corrected a bit. I didn't want to correct it too far as it's partly an illusion, but I could go further if I wanted to.

Wow, awesome image! I hear what Ian is saying about the trees reflected in the pool, and I also agree with him it's a minor thing.

Zack:
This is really beautiful, much stronger than the previous image. I also noticed the lens distortion in the original and the re-post look better imo. Well done.

Very nice coastal shot Zack, I like the starburst peeking from behind the large sea stack. Very obliging sky too.

It's funny how we sometimes miss great shots when looking through the results of a shoot. I'm glad you find your favorite. Funny enough, the shot I posted just a few hours after yours in this same gallery shares that fate.

The composition of this shot works very well for me, with lots of points of interest. I also like the color palette. Well done!

Incredible, Zack. The light on the sand around the pool and the touch of light on the foreground rock is such a beautiful foreground for the gorgeous forms and color of the background. Stunning image.

Zack, this is really an outstanding image with some great elements well composed. I like your repost with the distortion correction that fixes the leaning trees in the reflection.
