Bittern Leap

by Harry Harris

This image was taken about 3 minutes before the image in my last post. I was centered on the Bittern crouching in the small canal and suddenly he jumped. His leap left me with very little room at the top. I left a lot of room on the left and took some off the right and bottom. I was trying to compose so that it did not feel to tight on the top of the Bitterns head. Crop shows 60% of original.

Comments are appreciated.

Although the bird is a bit soft, this is a nice action capture of a bird I find very difficult to get anywhere near open. Sharon

I agree with Sharon, despite the minor imperfections if this had been mine I still keep it in my collection to, as it's a wonderful action shot Harry :^)

Harry,
Another great post. I would love either of your last two posts in my collection. You've done great with what little room you had left on top. Excellent exposure on these images as well Harry. You should be proud of these. There are not very many good image of Bitterns in flight. :toast: :toast:

Dynamism makes this shot (IMO). Surely the light wasn't so easy.

Well done. Luca

An interesting, even unique image Harry. Fun to see. I agree regarding the softness and needing more room up top.
