The meadowlarks are singing big time around here - it must be spring. I caught this one on the first down beat of lift off.

7D, 1/4000, f/6.3, ISO 400, 500 f/4, 1.4 tc, shot from pickup window on 3/13/11, cropped to 54% of original image, slight exposure adjustment in ACR, sharpened bird and part of perch, no additional processing or adjustments, natural light, not set up or baited

Lift off poses are great and this is no exception. The down beat and body tilt really works to add tension here, Ron. MIght get rid of the lrc twigs, though. Still love it as is.

Ron,
I too love lift off positions and this one is no acception. Very nice detail for a rather large crop. I really like the composition and the background compliments nicely. I like the twigs in the lower right corner. To me it provides a nice balance Ron. Another beauty Ron. Wouldn't expect anything less. :toast:

What a wonderful photo with such crisp detail, I'm very impressed Ron :^) I really have to get out again soon and start practicing shots at shutter speeds of 1/4000+ ;^)

Kind regards,

Ashley

I like the pose and the relaxed grip of the feet as the bird releases from the perch. Nice BIF capture Ron.

Sweet detail in the bird on this shot Ron. Love the take-off position. Nice BG and perch too. Perfect head turn for the light in the eye. Very well done.

Terrific background to set off the meadowlark. I like the pose you captured - very different from the usual meadowlark poses. Your choice of composition also works very well.

Thanks for sharing. :toast:
