Blue Hour at Long Lake

The term Blue Hour refers to that time at twilight in the morning or evening when there is neither complete darkness, or full daylight. I love what the sensors pick up during these times.

This was taken last summer.

Comments and critiques are always welcome, and thanks for looking,

Morris

I'm right there with you on the "Blue Hour." And this is a very fine shot. I like the foreground rocks and the nice deep blues of the water. Perhaps a bit of CCW rotation is needed though, based on the apparent angle of the distant shore?

Fantastic foreground - nicely composed and processed. The mountains and sky seem too bright for me but that's easily fixed if you are so inclined. Well done.

Thanks everyone. :wavey:
Phil, thanks, but there is no rotation. The tree mid-left shows vertical, as it was, and the shore is receding giving it a tilt appearance.

Beautiful picture, Morris. I like this comp very much. The deep blue water looks great with the greens. I also like how the foreground rock color matches up with the mountains. Very nice!

Excellent details and the comp is very appealing. Seems a tad overstaurated but I'm blaming that on a new uncalibrated monitor (mine) since your color management has always been spot on. beautiful scene. :toast:

Interesting light (and colors) from this time of day. Could maybe see burning the sky a bit darker.

Beautiful, Morris. Love the soft light, and those blues are incredible. Really like your perspective with the lake in the distance, as well as the forest and the far mountains. Exquisite.

Beautiful blues and greens Morris. I like the comp you selected with the red foreground rocks and distant mountains.

Some beautiful color, light and mood here, Morris! I would have preffered a shorter exposure (more texture) for the stream. :wavey:

The color and texture of the water is just gorgeous. Wonderful blues. I think I would try brightening the FG a tiny bit, and then darkening the background peaks and sky. That would keep the viewer's eye from straying away from the middle of the comp, where the beautiful water is.
