Love the light and colors, not sure about the vertical crop. It's unusual for a 'storm front' image, but that might be what makes this one so powerful.

Thanks Nancy. I like this horizontal comp too, but miss the close up detail of the wheat!

Really like both versions, probably with a bit of a leaning toward the vertical due to the wheat and it being a bit more unconventional. Now, if you had that detail of the wheat in the horizontal version, that'd be a totally killer shot.

Stunning image Doug. I like the vertical comp better for the close up detail of the wheat. The sky seems more powerful in the horizontal version however.

This is a great picture, with the details in that "wall" of wheat and the nasty looking gust front. This looks like the same storm shown in an earlier post. Nice job of "working" that storm.

Doug, I appreciate especially the vertical version, in my opinion it shows the force of the upcoming front more immediately. Great capture of the moment!

Hmmm, Doug, I really like the wheat in the image, while the horizontal looks cool as well.
My initial thought before I even saw the landscape, was a crop of the sky in original, almost squaring it off. I really think you can take off at least the top 1/3rd and get the storm effect, while retaining the wheat. A bit different but just IMO.

Very nice and fascinating too! This looks great, especially the vertical comp with the great textures in the wheat.

Yeah, the combination of remarkable detail in the foreground wheat and the storm descending on the barn gives this a VERY unusual feel. It's surprising that it works so well despite the sense that the subjects are so discrete from each other.

Excellent shot of the storm, the vertical composition works very well due to the detail in the wheat, well seen and well done.

You did it again Doug! A great northern plains/Big Sky image. It conveys the feeling of the place very well.
