I found a few of these feeding in some bushes mixed in with the pines. Very active little guys...tough to keep still! This was taken on a foggy morning.

50D, 500mm, Iso 200, 1/60, f4.5 LARGER version posted.

What a neat little bird. Love the eye contact. This is nice and sharp for 1/60sec. Nicely done :smile:
The contrast is a little low but that is to be expected on a foggy day. It also seems to be on the cool side (Blue) but not too much.

The face is nice and sharp especially for 1/60 but much of the rest of the bird doesn't look very sharp so I would normally vote for more depth of field but you didn't have a lot of light to work with here so you probably got as much as you could out of this image. Nice comp too. :toast:

Nice, Sharon. I don't mind the rest of the bird being a little soft, with the face so sharp. Given the noise characteristics of the 50D, you probably couldn't have gotten much more dof with the light available. Nice subdued pose-it fits the mood created by the fog.

I love the pose and the soft light adds to a demure feeling. The face is beautifully sharp. Wish that little stick wasn't coming up behind the tail but birds just don't understand about posing in clean environments.
