Everglades Spectacle

Birds are gathering in the hundreds and thousands, wherever there's water in the Everglades. We have a dry spell right now, so bad that even airboats have a difficult time in some areas of the sawgrass, but here along Tamiami Trail the birds are feasting on small fish and crustaceans.

Oh I would love to be there. Amazing how many birds in one image. I like the pale light in the sky.

Wayne,

This is what I imagined the glades looked like at the turn of the century before the plume hunters decimated populations. I see Wood Storks among the egrets.

Wow, very impressive scene with so many birds. I have never seen anything like this. The larger image looks great with the colors in the sky. I also like how the one bird in each corner kind of balances the image for me. Excellent scene, well done.

Top notch habitat shot, Wayne. The larger version is breathtaking for the amount of egrets and storks in the scene. Not to mention the outstanding light. I can see this location will be chock full of photographers.

Looks like the image needs a slight CW rotation. Thanks for sharing this.
