House Sparrow
Interesting story behind this one, Thirty years ago we had chickens running loose and the House Sparrows arrived. We live more than two miles away from the village where the nearest Sparrows are. They would have to pass through or over dense oak forest to get here and vice verca. We have many communal boxes up around the house and garden which are all used by Sparrows.
Interestingly ,many of them now have varying degrees of white in their plumage. Some a lot more than others. I am sure this is due to in-breeding. They do tend to be easier Sparrow Hawk targets though.

Detail is excellent as usual John. I like the complimentary colouration of the surroundings and the 'curious' pose. It looks as if it is trying to peer over the neighbours fence.

Hi John,

I wanted to say...let me be the first to comment then... :jump: but i see Robert has beaten me to it..

We have birds such as Blackbirds and Jackdaws showing leucistic signs down here bit not that many so quite surprised you have more of them with these white feathers in their plumage.

Love the pose and let's hope that this trend of 100+ views and no comments does not continue..

greetings,

Jeroen Stel
