Shot these laughing gulls this morning atFt DeSoto. First morning light my absolute favorite. Is that thing on the left gulls beak a male thing? Like a turkey?

Seems like some sort of bill deformity. A nicely balanced composition, and both birds sharp. Couldn't ask for more. :toast:

I like the symmetry and the reflection. Nice job getting both birds sharp. :toast:

An elegant photo Cheryl. Technically and esthetically well done. Can't speak with authority on the thingy on the bill?

Wish I could hep with the thing on the beak Cheryl, but not familiar with this species. I like the comp and how they seem to mirror each other.

Great symmetry and light. That looks like an old injury to the bill, as if the soft part of the lower bill is torn out. I've seen similar injuries to other water birds like grebes. Maybe due to fish hooks?

This is one of those images where a center composition does work, nice pose and reflections, well seen.
