Limpkin

I love these birds and was fortunate to see a couple of them this year. I was really happy to see this one out in the open, instead of in the tall reeds and grasses where I normally see them. This one was quite patient with me, and went about preening itself as if I were not there.
I like the dropped wing pose and the lighting on this one.

Nice relaxed pose and perch, Sharon. Having it in the open provides a great view of the plumage. I like the light and the head turn. However, the head in both versions seem quite soft. Looks like the focus was on the breast feathers.

Congrats on getting this.

Beautiful lighting, pose and perch, Sharon. The face and neck looked just a touch soft to me-maybe a bit more sharpening?
I really like the beak in this one.

really nice pose and comp, and great to catch it out in the open, Sharon. I agree that the head is rather soft.

Great catch! I've never seen one in the open!
Nice pose, good "perch" and BG. The head is fairly soft in the large version, as if you focused on the body rather than the eye - very easy to do!

Nice pose here. I too like the wing positions. The others have mentioned the softness, but I'm also detecting a bit of a cyan cast in both versions. It could just be my viewing conditions but might be worth a check.

Real nice pose and perch. Great light and background, and as stated already the head seems soft. Other than that well done.

Very hard to get a Limpkin out in the open with a background this nice and clean. Nice image. I agree that the head is just a bit soft.

A rare sighting in the open. I like the rock and gradated tones of the bg.

Gorgeous pose and perch. I wish the head was a tad sharper but still a really nice image

Great job capturing this Limpkin on such a nice perch, Sharon. Nice pose with a nice head turn. The head is a tad bit soft on the larger version.
