Yellowthroat - SW

More from my South Texas trip for the NANPA Summit -

This is the Southwest variation of the male Common Yellowthroat. The SW's are a bit larger, have brighter olive on the back, and have more yellow on the belly and frontal band.
The yellow on the throat also wraps around behind the cheek.

Great shot Sandy. The low angle is excellent and the reflection balances the comp nicely. The detail shows very well in the large version.

Quite unique Sandy - a yellowthroat with a water reflection isn't seen every day. Sharpness and exposure look good, I like the perky pose and your comp works well for me considering the reflection. Nicely done.

Sandy,

You must have been laying in the mud to get this angle? Great colors and a wonderful reflection. Great work!

Great low angle and nice shot of the common yellowthoat. The reflection of the bird in the water really adds to the image.
One Awesome shot.

That's a pretty amazing shot of this shy reclusive bird. And a reflection to boot.

Very nice look at this Southwest Variant, Sandy. It definitely looks different than our local Yellowthroats. The reflection is great.

Excellent, Sandy. Great angle, and good exposure and detail. I'm not sure about the crop-the reflection feels a bit crowded, but I can't see what else might work. :toast:
