Brown Hares Boxing

I was out this morning looking for brown hares and found quite a few. This pair ere very active through out the morning. They eventually started boxing after nearly four hours of observing them. They just seamed to go from relaxing together to an instant full on boxing match. The female is the one which jumped up about three feet into the air before laying into he male.

Hi Ron, I moved these hares to the wildlife forum from the avian forum, although considering they are flying maybe I should have left it in avian  Cool capture, I'd crop a little from the top if this were mine. :toast:

Really great image Ron! I love the thin line of focus. It really shows off this boxing couple. :toast:

Sweet shot. Love to see the behavior. The detail shows well in the large post.

Incredible image Ron  ! The hares are perfectly isolated with that green BG and FG as well. The slight diagonal line aids the composition in a subtle, but influential way. My inly suggestion is to crop this a bit tighter (at least for web presentation) to focus the attention where it should be, on the hares. :toast:

Hi Ron,

Yep, not birds - definitely!

Simple and effective - really like it. I agree with Vincent's comments, especially re: the subtle effect of the sloping line of in-focus grass - adds a lot to the image for me. I do also agree with going with a little tighter crop all-around for web presentation and I might take just a tad more off the top (than the other sides). But real nice isolation here and you definitely captured the peak of the action very well!

Good shot - thanks for sharing it...

Wonderfully timed shot Ron, and the OOF BG really lends well to the image as a whole :^)

This is too funny. Love how you caught her in mid jump. The comp suits me as well, esp that line of in focus grass.

incredible action! I also will bay for a tighter crop :wavey:
I too dig the diagonal line, it adds to the overall drama.

This is a delight. I agree a little tighter would be even better.
