Ruddy Turnstone

A Ruddy Turnstone at Tigertail Beach, Marco Island, FL in the early morning light. I wish I had more shutter speed for this one, and in this pose I didn't need to be stopped down so I could have had it, but for anything other than straight profiles it was helpful. Anyway, the motion blur in the foot is the slightly unfortunate outcome of all that, but I like everything else.

I like the warm tones/colors Brian, great detail & mid-stride pose..
I don't know that the blur's a bad thing, just a rumor that's "afoot"
Well done :toast:

Great light, color and dof. The bird is taking a step, so I don't think the little bit of blur is out of place. Good low angle also.

Nice light, great detail and a nice smooth bg and fg to set the bird off. With all that, the bit foot blur doesn't really register until I get out the magnifying glass. :toast:

I agree with the previous comments. As far as the minimal foot blur is concerned, I feel it gives life and motion to the photograph.

Brian, I like it the way it is even with the motion in the foot. It adds something, keeping the study from being a static portrait. Great lighting, excellent detail and I love the low andgle. :toast:

Great light, detail and nice low angle. I agree with Dolph and Rick, the blurred foot is a plus, showing motion.

Sweet light an excellent exposure, Brian. Lovely detail. I kind of like the implied movement with the slightly blurred foot.

Wonderful light and POV, Brian. I don't mind the blur at all. Rest of the turnstone is very sharp and the blur provides a good sense of motion. Congrats on getting this! :toast:

Nice low angle and warm, early light. Blurred foot is a non issue.

I like the low angle, detail and narrow focus band. Skimmers are a terrific tool.

Beautiful background for this bird, Brian. I'm o.k. with the motion blur: it's nice to see detail in the feet but the blur does provide a sense of action that is otherwise missing. Nice DOF here too. :toast:

Brian,

I actually like the motion blur of the foot, it keeps the image from being too static. Your low angle makes this shot work very nicely for my tastes. Lovely light, setting, comp, details & sharpness. I might bring the midtones down slightly in a levels layer to add a smidge of depth to the feathers.
