The washes of color are glorious here. I also like the peek at the stamens behind. The light also makes this appear as if lit from within. Beautiful work!

As good as it gets Ian. The dof and plane of focus supply most of the magic I think but the color palette is gorgeous as well. Exceptional image for my tastes.

Ian:
Just wonderful. The wash and color are just perfect (even in mid-day sun). Although it is often said that it is best to avoid shooting at mid-day. I often shot at this time (during my lunch break) and get some good image occasionally.

Pretty special Ian. Really like the peek-a-boo look at the stamens.
P.S. you could probably get some nice ones with a lensbaby!

Very unique and creative. Has me scratching my head a little trying to figure out how you did this, but I really like it. The colors are beautiful.

Tastefully done, Ian - beside the obvious I also like the inclusion of the complimentary yellow in the background.

Ian, what a way to show you actually can achieve great results in midday sun if you know what to do and what to look for. This is fantastic in every way!

What a beauty, Ian! A raw of yellow stamens, same visible, some half hidden, the others only imagined, as in a dream. It's all about light; more than one source, I suppose. Your favourite colors work always beautifully. Bravo!
Take care.
