Kingfisher

by Andy Shepherd

Gallery: Regional: UKNPPosted April 11, 2011228 views15 comments

One from last year, Kingfisher sat atop a water marker, it's not the best perch in the world, but I'll take what I can get of this species.

1/400th @ f8 iso400 ( 80% of FF, a slither of white marker removed from the perch and a little ccw rotation, please view large )

Thanks for the feedback on my last post and thanks for looking.

Andy...

Despite the perch, I'd be ecstatic if I had taken this. Definition and background are great.

Andy ...not a great perch? I do not accept that statement from you ...What i really love here is the color sync between the bird's blue feathers and perch ..complimenting each other .. Well done ..

One of my favourite birds Andy. The post is where it landed so no choice of yours but to take the shot. The back ground is sympathetic to the post and subject. Lots of detail in the bird an excellent image.

Not that bad a perch I don't think and the detail in the bird and the super background make a great shot for me :toast:

The perch doesn t bother me, its a kingfisher and some of us don t have the chance to put our own perches in, lovely shot and some nice detail to

really like the soft light and colours here Andy. Maybe not the most photogenic perch but still a very attractive kingfisher image.
