Hello everyone. Well lately I have been enjoying shooting ducks. So here is one of this drake. It was asleep and floated towards my direction. Hope you enjoy. C&C welcomed and encouraged.

Excellent detail here - great colours and you caught the irridescense of the head well.
Beautiful soft water.
You're really mastering that 200-400!
Nice work!

Nice. I like the resting pose and overall tranquil feel of this.

I find this a difficult species - the eye is a bit recessed into the face and it is hard to get a catchlight or otherwise make the eye look natural. The combination of the light you had and your low position has worked well in this case.

Love the light and colors in this shot Robert. Nice detail in teh larger version. I might have composed this differently with more room behind the bird than in front of it given the direction the bird's head is facing, but it is fine as posted IMO.

Robert,

Lovely light, setting and eye contact. Beautiful, natural colors and sharpness too. You did very well to get light in the eye and show it so well in the dark feathers surrounding it. I like the relaxed pose of the Wigeon and the iridescence shown.

Nicely done Robert. Your relatively low angle makes a big difference and I like your exposure. I'd likely place the bird further to the left in the frame if this were mine.
