2 days ago we had 4” snow, yesterday I was splitting firewood for next winter, and today its rain – so I’m revisiting images from last year. This was taken at sunset last August on Deer River Flow in the northern Adirondacks. I double processed the RAW file and blended with other minor curve and sat adjustments.

T1i, 17mm, f18, 1/15s, ISO-200, tripod

Comments always welcome, thanks for looking.

Ron, the classical composition does the serene atmosphere justice! I enjoy the delicate plants in the foreground with their subtle colors together with the reflexion in the still water.

I really like the warm evening light here Ron. I would consider increasing the overall exposure a bit since the image feels a bit dark to me. Also, I would consider increasing the exposure in the sky a bit to make it so the reflection is not brighter than the sky.

A very peaceful scene. I agree with Scott regarding exposure. :toast:

Thanks for the feedback. I reworked it a bit and pulled out more details and light...brighter than I remember it being, but it does seem to work.

This is a beautiful shot--very peaceful and calm. I like the range of color in this. I think the silhouetted trees and the 50/50 composition work well here to give this a nice symmetry.

That's looking much better Ron! Foreground and midground look perfect. I might try using TKs luminosity masks to tone down the brightest highlights in the sky.
