Rogue Mystery
by Scott Smorra
I just returned from a 4 day inflatable kayak (IK) trip on the Rogue River in Southern Oregon. We floated the Wild and Scenic section of the river from Almeda Bar to Foster Bar (39 miles total). Luckily we had raft support, so I was able to take the dSLR and tripod.
This trip was one of the best wilderness experiences of my life. I was blown away by the rugged beauty of this area. As you float down the Rogue River Canyon it feels like you are going back in time. I titled this one "Rogue Mystery", because I feel the fog and mist adds a sense of mystery to the scene. Who knows what is hiding up in those hills.

I have several more images to come and I will have a write up of the trip on my blog soon.

12 commentsThe fog is wonderful in the scene, I do wish there was more of it though, I think it would add more drama to the foreground trees.
mood of the image. Did you by chance see any Big Foot tracks?
Justin - I've got lots of other shots with more fog. I will try processing some of them to see how they look.
Robert - we didn't see Bigfoot, but I wouldn't have been surprised to see him in this valley!
