Prairie Chicken 4

OK, I know I've shown a lot of them but here's another in my series of Greater Prairie Chicken images. I also know that tight portraits generally aren't to most folks liking but I had great light and the opportunity so I tried a few and would like to know what you think. I know the yellows look a bit hot but by Lightroom they're not blown (ok maybe a few pixels are but overall, they're not).

Keith, other than the hotness you spoke about with the yellows I like this. I like the comp and the detail in the front part of the bird, and I love the "eyebrows" or whatever they are and seeing them up so close.

Wow, I can't imagine being so close to this species with this being full frame. I like this but I do find myself wishing I could also see all of the tufts at the top of the head. Love the colors, great view of the eye, sharpness and fine details. Did you get any verticals with the bird in this close?

Awesome detail Keith. I do like this image a lot as posted. For my taste I would like to see whole ear tufts and I would burn down the brightest oranges just a bit. Very cool getting this close to this species.

Great close-up! I like the colors as you have them, but do wish the tufts were showing. Thanks for sharing,

Keith, add me to the list of those who like this. The colors and the eye contact more than outweigh any other nits IMHO.

Gorgeous, Keith! I might prefer one that showed the full topknot, but I'm not sure. This really pops and the eye grabs my attention despite all the yellow.

I really like this dramatic closeup POV Keith, this has to be one of the coolest looking birds out there.
Nice & sharp, you've filled the frame with excellent detail. You've managed to tone it down well, great light too.
Love the eye, one never gets to see it like this as a rule.
Well done & Happy Easter! :toast:
