I made this photo last year around the same time I posted the another version. However this is a stack of 4 photos - stacked in Photoshop CS5.

ND200, 105mm F/2.8 VR Micronikkor with 36mm tube, F/11 (IIRC), 1/40 Sec, ISO200 and Tripod with Diffuser.

Thanks a lot for your comments on my Previous Photo and do let me know your thoughts on this one.

That's crazy! I love the shapes and the rich colors. The sharpness is amazing too. :toast:

Beautiful image Ram and a very fine stack. My only reservation is the yellow/green in the viewer's lower right color. For my tastes that corner has a dissonance with the rest of the image. Consequently, I prefer your prior version. This may just be my color preferences though. I'd probably be inclined to take the lower corner black, white or some hue of red. That said, the image is still strikingly beautiful.

Pat, agree a 100% and that is the reason why I did not share it last season.

The shapes and colors are very nice and I really like the shadows inside the petals. I do agree with Pat about the LRC but I don't think changing it would help the image, it is what it is. Beautiful image regardless.

I have to agree with pat as well. I love dahlias, and I like this image a lot for its unique color and comp, but I looked at the other version, and I much prefer that version.

Ram:
I remember the one from last year which was fabulous. This one is different and agree with Pat about the green - maybe a square crop may be the way to go with this one.
Just looked at your previous iris post - so lovely and well come back.

I also prefer the previous version, only because of the rlc in this one. If there were more flower to fill in that section, then I would definitely prefer this comp, though. A crop of about 10% off the bottom and 5% off the right, and filling in the little bit of residual green with a pink or red hue would probably work well

Ram: I'm in a really lazy mood right now so I'm going to pile on and ditto Pat. Still, your seconds outshine almost everyone else. You're off to a strong start in 2011. >=))>

Although I agree about the green being out of place, I love everything about the rest of the image. Wonderful!

Perfect stack, Ram, and a great composition. I especially like the way the centre is out of focus and just glimpsed at the corner of the frame. Beautiful image !

Love the pinks and reds and the shapes of the individual petals is beautiful. I like the bit of yellow/green because they are complimentary colors to the reds and pinks. Just a lovely image.
