Eurasian Bullfinch

This one I shot 2 weeks ago when I was out with a collegue photographer visiting his neighbours for squirrel pictures.
This Eurasian Bullfinch took place on a fallen tree, ust the right place I think.

Watch for yourself.

Tom, NPN posting guidelines instruct "place your photo in the single, most appropriate gallery" so I am moving this to Avian. Of course birds are wildlife, but they have their own private gallery!

I like seeing unfamiliar subject like this bullfinch. Thanks for sharing. My suggestion would to consider removing some of the expanse of background above the bird, perhaps to a 4x5 ratio image. I like the lines and angles, especially as provided by the neat perch.

Tom, I really like the comp on the repost a whole lot better. I had the same thoughts, so glad I read further not to repeat Lon. If this were mine, I might also try getting a few more details out of the blacks to show the eye better. But all around good job on this!

Wish we had these birds over here, love the orange with the white and black. I prefer the repost as per Lon's reasoning. Maybe a little more selective sharpening could be done on the bird?

Hi Kurt, I tried that, but I'm not good with PS so the picture isn't better after my treatment. :)
I hope I do learn it sometime.

Thanks for your comment.

Tom, the repost crop is a big improvement on the over all image. Like the natural perch and how the bird's colors suit the bg colors, or the other way around. Beautiful bird, although I agree it would be nice to see more light detail in the head area. Welcome to the Avian gallery. Post more.
