I spent half an hour yesterday tidying up the edge of my new pool and not long after, this fella came in and started digging it up looking for mud to line its nest with :frown:
Behavioural shot really but quite a challenge with the bright light and contrasty bird I thought.
D200 Sigma 100-300 + 1.4 Sigma conv.
250 ISO
500sec @f8
Contrast down
EV down 1 stop
Levels
Paint Shop Pro
Nearly full frame.
Maybe it could do with a little "lifting" but would have to be selective

Very good behavioural shot John.Detail in both the whites and blacks, nice sheen to those tail feathers and a great catchlight.
I might just take a sliver off the bottom, above that light coloured stone.

Difficult lighting conditions, John, but the detail in both blacks and whites is good.
