Curls

I've always been fascinated by the bark curling and peeling on large birch trees. This was taken a couple of days ago near a trail in a northern Adirondack forest (finally the snow is mostly gone); I thought it made for a nice abstract. Minor adjustments and a layered luminosity mask. Larger version provided.

T1i, 48mm, f16, .6s, ISO-200, tripod

Thanks for looking, comments appreciated.

This is really nice Ron. Excellent composition, and the shapes of the curling bark is very attractive. Great texture and color too.

I can't understand why this only had one comment. I think it's a great detail shot, with great color and light. My only thought would be to shave a very tiny bit off the top to get rid of that whitish bark in the very upper right corner.
