This is a very familiar summit for me. I see it every day that the clouds do not set up an impenetrable curtain below 4000 feet. Never does it look more attractive than when bathed in the colorful rays of the sun rising/setting in the southern sky.

Simple and beautiful! I like the counterpoint between the dark forest and the sunlit peaks. Very nice work!

what a wonderful mountain portrait. I really dig the soft lighting. I can't wait to visit your great state in a couple weeks!

Justin - Elevation is moderate, as evidenced by the forest on the near ridge, just over 5000 feet. The photo was made from roughly sea level.

Bill - Such a small percentage of the landscape collects this beautiful early morning light that it pays to employ a "photographer's eye" in order to fully appreciate the experience.

Cory - Will you be visiting Southeast? If so, drop me a line. If not, have fun up north.

Hi Kent,

Great layers, thoughtful composition, and an excellent processing and control of light. I might prefer just a slight bit more saturation in the sky. If I had to nit, I'd say that if you divide the image vertically down the middle that it feels slightly left heavy. Overall, a very professional presentation. of fine subject matter

Nice colors from the edge of daylight on the snow. I like the parallel diagonal lines of the treelines, snowlines, and brightest light on the peak.

I like the light and diagonal lines in this Kent but the photo seems to lack something, maybe it needs a stronger focal point.
