Happy Mother's Day !
This is from my latest shoot and I was thrilled to get this from an animal, which hardly ever shows any emotions or gives any expression.
The baby Rhino was going to deep inside the jungle, when Mama just stopped to take account of the situation. Meanwhile baby moved ahead, then he came back and kissed Mama thrice ... a magical moment.

Thank you so much for your kind attention & views!

Wow, what a moment to witness Jagdeep. You're right, it is so hard to "see" emotions on rhinos so this is a rare and terrific capture. Great for Mother's Day! :toast:

This is pretty cool! It might be a tad flat. You could try to make it pop a bit more by using Unsharp Mask with settings: Amount: 17%, Radius: 50 pixels, and Threshold: 0 Levels.

I tend to disagree with you regarding rhino's not showing emotions/expressions Jagdeep, but perhaps the Indian rhinos are more shy than the white rhinos. This is a magical moment indeed and captured at the perfect moment. The lack of BG separation is a pity, but I like how you framed this with the green grass at the bottom and the green leaves along the top.

Easy to understand why you were thrilled with this one Jagdeep, plenty of emotional pull :^)

Absolutly marvelous, I tried for 5 days to get a Mum and calf together let alone in such a beautiful pose, very lucky but very well captured :toast: :toast: :toast:

I have no real experience of Asian Rhino, but they do have very expressive faces.

Hi Jagdeep,

Very touching image - great timing on capturing this very fleeting moment in time. While I agree that more separation from the background would have been desirable, to my eye the single thing which could have really elevated this image was totally out of your control - the direction of the light. While I love sidelighting, here if it was coming from the opposite side there would be much more emphasis on the key aspect of the image - the baby kissing mom. But, nothing you could do about that...but very well done given the existing conditions...

Cheers...thanks for sharing this one...

I don't know id Rhinos show their emotions or not, but this baby seems not to bee interested in our thoughts
Very well composed,I like the inclusion of the green grass in FG, while i'd like less DOF to try and reduce the BG presence. I don't know which is your 500 limit or if it had already reached it.

Cheers, Luca
