Wilson's Vista

Wilson Hill in Northern Marin County, Ca is one my favorite go to spots if I'm up for a little dawn patrol photography but don't want to drive hours to get there. Today was a good time as the wildflowers are just starting to show themselves and days of ultra clear skies have finally come to an end.
I'm curious what folks think of this image. My main concern is that it is too dark overall. That being said I like viewing in it a darker room with a black background and that way it seems okay. This is a 3 image blend for dynamic range. Any thoughts on the blend is appreciated as well. Please note that there is a fairly strong wind so the flowers are mostly likely a tad blurry in places.

Please view LARGE for better detail!

Nice, moody scene that shows off the landscape well. The small flowers make the whole thing work.

I love the mood in the scene Mike, so inviting .. I watched in a dark room and I did not find it dark..Larger version truly reveals the hidden details...Wonderful shot
Thanks for sharing this :toast:

I really like this one Ryan. The low lying clouds and the foreground flowers really make this nice. As far as the darker feel to the image...I like it and think it works quite well for this scene.

The subtle warm light here combined with the vibrant greens and scattered wildflowers is a delight to view. This feels like a very peaceful scene and it makes me want to linger a while and take it all in. Fantastic work!!

You show us a wonderful serene atmosphere, Mike! The yellow spots of the flowers are especially delightful.

I think it's pretty nice! Maybe dark, but not too much IMO. The yellow lupine are nice scattered about the foreground too. Maybe it could use a slight in crease in color/intensity in the sky?

What a delightful scene! This really makes me wish I was there to enjoy this in person. No nits at all from me. Well done Mike.
