Slanted Falls

Shooting Beecher creek falls always requires the use of a bubble level because the slabs of rock here are so slanted.
This is what it looked like last fall. It had a nice steady flow then, but it was nothing like the roaring cataract that it turned into with this spring's simultaneous snow melt and heavy rains.

To see what it looks like today, see my post tonight in the Man & Nature Gallery, here.

Canon 50D
Sigma 17-70mm.

Very enjoyable comp here with beautiful color and wonderfully rendered detail. Your processing looks very good here. The large version is great and I can imagine this would look fantastic in a large print. This scene looks very peaceful--quite a contrast to the raging water in your M&N post. It's hard to imagine that is the same falls.

Wow, what a difference a season makes! That is scary how much water is coming through here in the other post. This one is inviting and beautiful, I like it a lot.

A nice and serene scene - but I gotta admit I like the heavy flowing water much better!

I like the more gentle flow here Wayne. What a difference compared to your post on M&N. I like revisiting places through the seasons and through the years to see how they change. Wonderful work.

Wow, what a difference the season can make. Both are lovely. The highlights in this version feel a bit overexposed on my monitor, but some of that is likely just the natural reflectiveness of the rocks and foliage. I like the framing you've provided here.

A very lovely scene and well captured, i quite like how the vegitation frames the waterfall. The difference in water between the two images is quite remarkable!

I like both posts. The fallen leaves in this version are a nice addition as is seeing the staircase in the rocks. I do think that this one could use a bit more contrast in the mid-tones. I also like the light streaks in the foreground rapids, they provide a nice anchor to keep my eyes from running off the bottom.
