Forgotten Season!

by David E Lester

Gallery: FloraPosted May 11, 201127 views5 comments
Taken at my inlaws back in Criders Virginia a couple of weekends ago. I spent the day just to see what kind of plants from the past season I could find.
It is a simple shot..but I like what it represents in my eyes!

Canon 7D, ef70-200L IS II @ 120mm, AP, 1/800sec, iso100, f/2.8, Handheld, converted to B&W in CS5.

C&C welcome.

Dave

Well done! Nice warm duotone, good comp. I do think a step down or two would have allowed enough dof to include focus on the entire stem.

Nice Monochrome, David with an angular placement for the subject. Agree with Philip about the DOF need.

Maybe, you can't see it here but the stem is at more of an angle that what it looks like, I will pay more attention next time, thanks for the advice.

I tend to agree with the stem OOF, but I also understand that you were shooting down it towards the end. I think this is well seen and handled.

David,

I agree that I'd prefer a little more dof, although it's certainly not an image killer in my mind. I like the conversion, the mood and the excellent subject separation. i can see why the image appeals to you.
