Hello everyone. Well I have never had the chance to photograph one of these tiny guys. Until the other day. I have no idea how I spotted this little guy but im gald I did. I was able shoot a couple of frames before flying away. The following pic is the one I liked the best. Hope you enjoy. C&C welcomed and encouraged. Camera - Nikon 300s, Lense - Nikon 200-400 w/1.4tc, Exposure - 1/800, Aperture - F5.6, ISO - 320, Metering - Spot, Aperture Priority.

Bob, really fine detail, especially in the large version! LOVE the pollen on the long beak and feather detail and colours.
I'm not sure about the comp - the oof parts of the branch - fore and aft - don't contribute anything. Maybe try a closer crop just of the great hummer?

The bird looks terrific here Robert. The out of focus areas of the branches look a bit odd to me, stopping down a stop would have hellped with that. :toast:

Nice and simple - I like the large amound of open space. That said, the oof part of the branch on the left looks like you can see the results of masking that you did there - it looks odd. You probably tried to selectively darken the background there?

Ok. I tried to follow Sandy's advice. So here is a diiferent crop. I also removed part of the perch cause I was not to pleased with it. Let me know what you all think.

Wonderful detail and background plus the pollen adds a nice touch, Hummer shots are some of the hardest to get, I like the repost much better, way to go.
