Good numbers of these in the forest for a change this year. Numbers have been really down in the past few.

iso 250 100th sec@f7.1
Contrast down. EV down 1
slight crop. Levels paint Shop pro 7
Not sure about the plain background - am going off them a bit, but in this case it was just grass.

Nice pose. Like that catchlight and the clean background. Would love to see a tad more of that perch and I'd prefer to see more of the beak to get a stronger outline shape.

Very good looking shot John, I like the clean BG, it sets the bird off nicely. I would agree with Marsel that it would have been nice to get just a bit more of a headturn to see the beak better, but still a very nice image.
