Forget-me-nots (repost in comments)

These forget-me-not flowers reseed and come up every year in my partially shaded flower bed. I really like the delicateness of these flowers and the beautiful blue color. When starting to bloom some flowers can have a pinkish color.

Canon Rebel T1i. 90mm macro lens. F/13 for 1/20 sec. ISO 100.

Love the glow from this Carolyn and the colors. It's also a fine composition though. My only reservation is the stem and bud in the viewer's lower right. The bud has an interesting shape and you did a good job of capturing the detail there but it seems to me to compete a little with the flowers. I can imagine it gone and a slightly tighter crop. It certainly wouldn't depict the plant as accurately but it would emphasize the blooms a bit more. Regardless, the image is beautiful.

These are beautiful flowers and including the young magenta ones adds interest. On my monitor there's a noticeable rim around all of the flower petals. I don't know enough to tell whether it's a processing artifact or a jpg artifact.

Carolyn: I like the bold color palette. The lighting looks a bit contrasty for my tastes but only marginally so. I think I would definitely make the stem on the lower right go away. Beautiful blooms. >=))>

I like this, Carolyn  - superb plane of focus and DOF management here. I like how the 3 blooms form an implied triangle - the pink smaller one near the tip add so much to the beauty of this frame.

Really nice detail and colours!
I agree that the stem is a little distracting. I'd clone it out from just below the left lower bud.
Nice!

Thanks for comments and critiques. As several have suggested I cut out the one bud on the right side and cropped tighter. Is this a better picture? Interested in feedback. I do think I like it better.

Carolyn, I think you really caught the essence of this flower in the repost. Nice job.

Cheers,

Carolyn this is a very appealing image. I like the comp and detail you've captured. The repost is better as per suggestions. Excellent job on the cloning out the stem and crop. I do notice haloing around the petal edges. I think it might be a tad too saturated. I aslo see the over saturation in the yellows.

Carolyn:
Fine looking image with strong contrasty colors. The repost looks stronger.

While both are fine captures Carolyn, the repost is very strong, the black BG makes this pop.
