I finally got a chance to check out the local heron rookery and discovered some new neighbors. The light was on again, off again but things came together pretty well for this image. I added some canvas above and cropped some from the bottom ending up very near the original full frame size. C and C welcome.

Nice flight shot. The detail is very good. You can see the color of the eye nicely also.

VERy tough to catch these darts in flight, and also a tough exposure - both handled very well!
Great pose and eye, as well.

Nice light to get detail in many of those dark feathers Keith. I like the wing position and the flight angle. Nice job getting the cormorant pretty much FF. Perhaps slightly tight on the left? I'm always shooting some other species when one of these birds happens by unexpectedly and I seldom get the exposure right.

well done from the technical POV, compositionally i think it is too tight to the left side. Great details, especially in the larger version.

Keith,
Tough bird to expose for. You did well. I like the angle of this and the details are pretty good considering how fast these guys fly. And all from a kayak? Well done Keith. Only nit would be the tighness on the left. I would add some canvas here. :toast:
