The migrants were missing in action here in FL this year so I pulled up a shot from last spring at Ft DeSoto.Male hooded warbler from March last year. I couldn't count these last year there were so many. This year I literally saw one and that was 3 weeks ago.Hopefully they will stop by next spring. My lens is still out for repair and I am so lonely LOL

What a beautiful bird! I've never seen these..
Nice detail in the large version, and nice BG that echoes the yellows.

Great image. The detail and color and detail are very good. The only nit would be to move the bird to the left of the image so that it would have more room in the way it is looking. Small nit in an other wise vine image.

Unique lighting effect, seems that the bird is in the shade yet a catchlight and well illuminated, like the result. I do agree with Richard on the compositional advice. I sometimes wonder why we see so relatively few warblers on this site, and this species is certainly one of the even more uncommonly posted examples of the group. Hope you get your lens back asap so you two can get reacquainted again. :jump:

A pretty little warbler Cheryl. Sharpness looks good and the natural setting works well for me. Not sure about the composition though. Hope you get your lens back soon - your comment about it made me smile.

You Guys!! I did struggle with the crop and felt the bird should be to the left but this big ol dark spot was driving me crazy sooo.. Is this a better crop even though the spot is a distraction? Thanks, my wonderful teachers :wavey:

I have never seen this bird. It seems to be a reverse mask of the common yellowthroat. As to the crop, what about a verticle to take some of the leaves on the left off and it might go with the verticle perch, IMO

Beautiful bird indeed, Cheryl. Very nice exposure and detail. About the comp, the repost works better for me even if the spot is just a bit distracting. If you want, you can try a vertical crop, as Harry's suggested. I hope your toy comes back soon brand new. :wavey:

I don't have any suggestions about the crop, but you have wonderful detail, clarity and colors on the board, and wonderful lighting on the bird.

A real pretty. If you can't remove the dark spot, then I'd try a square crop. I feel for your lonely situation without the lens.

I do like the re-post better - and it would be fairly easy to get rid of the dark spot, if you chose to.

Very interesting light in this shot, Cheryl. The bird almost glows. I prefer the re-post slightly over the first, but like Monica's suggestion of a vertical crop.
