Ice Flow

by Scott Smorra

Gallery: LandscapePosted May 18, 2011175 views17 comments
Water flowing over ice in a small stream in the Columbia River Gorge, Oregon. The bright blue sky above created all of the color in the ice/water.

This is an image I have revisited and reprocessed several times. During previous attempts, I never quite felt like the image reflected my vision for the scene. I think I finally got it right on this one and I'm curious to hear what you think. All C&C are appreciated.

Fascinating intimate, Scott! It's almost like looking at a river in the sky. I like the processing here.

Not sure if the glow is real or post processed but that's some fine eye candy you've created here Scott. Very cool image.

A beautiful abstract, Scott. I can't see anything I'd like to change in how you've framed, processed and presented it. If it were mine, I'd be well pleased with it!

Scott,

Otherworldly comes to my mind on this image, or surreal. Very well seen and your persistence paid off.

Beautiful flow in the image. Processing looks great, I might consider darkening the lower left side slightly to keep my eye from traveling that way. Another fine intimate from you.

Wasn't too inpressed by the thumbnail, bit I love the full size image. Wonderful texture and color, and the diagonal water flow is very nice. Beautiful.

Beautiful abstract composition and excellent use of the subtle blue hues. This shows a very sensitive eye and attention to detail.

Oh wow, I love this one Scott. The shimmering light on the ice. Kind of reminds of a fairy tale feel to it.

Processing looks perfect. I love it. The three textures : sparkly jewels, smooth and brittle - are wonderful.
