One California Quail has discovered my feeder. However, I have found that there is no such thing as one California Quail, as he has now brought all of his friends over to feast.

Sweet! I can rarely find these guys anywhere but on the ground.
Great pose and head-turn, nice BG, and complimentary perch.
I might try darkening the BG tree branch, as it competes a bit with the quail.

very cool and a beautiful perch. You have much better birds at your feeders there than I do here

This photo really captures my eye. I like all the feather detail that you have captured. I too wish I was lucky enough to get this type of bird at my feeders.

Lovely image and bird, I especially like the pose and eye contact, and plumage detail evident in the larger image.

A great shot Charlie. The bird is nice and sharp with great detail and a nice head turn. BG is perfect. Very small nit is the OOF part of the perch coming up behind the bird and the small piece intruding in the LRHC. I think the comp would be stronger without those being there, but still a great shot.

Interesting perch, nice head turn and I love the background Charlie. For some reason, all but the head seems slightly bright to me (perhaps it's time for me to recalibrate). I just spent 20 minutes trying to shoot this species out my back door in the first sun we've had for days but the setting always looks just like what it is - a suburban back yard...
