I like the subject, composition and pose, but I feel like the subject is slightly behind the best focus because the chest is not as sharp as I would like.

Very accurate, realistic colors (looks like it could have been taken on a Nikon! ) Perfect exposure and focal point looks fine to my eye as well. Well done!

A beauty! I like how he is framed by the right branch, but I might get rid of the BG , OOF ones.
Perfect ex[osure on a tough subject, and Focus looks fine to me too. Don't know the 5D's but I bet you have a setting that will show your focus point, if you're curious.
He seems to be sitting at an odd angle, so looks kind of tilted.
You might, if you wished to, experiment with straightening him a bit.
Really nice as is, though.
Sandy

Hello Sharon.
I see what Sandy is saying about the angle but that apart i recon it's a super little bird very well taken.

Sharon, I'm struck by the beauty of the bird and your nice exposure to show it off. There's one small bright area on the UR breast but I'm impressed that you got both the blacks and whites as well as you did.

I used to get discouraged going out on dreary days, but I now find that I rather like the subdued even lighting on such days...if you can get enough shutter speed! You certainly did very well at 1/50 here. More DOF would maybe have been ideal, but obviously with the light you had, you couldn't really push that too much.

Beautiful bird. I like the view of the red on the chest.

What a beautifully colored bird Sharon. I've seen the female once here, never a male like this..It must've been a thrill to see it for the first time
I might have opted for a higher ISO & SS under these low light conditions.
Well composed, good detail and exposure..Kinda like the way his chest is all puffed up too
