Hi,
Not sure what species this one is but I was attracted to the way it was nestled amongst the moss and the way the branched lichen was growing near the stem.

All comments always welcome and appreciated.

Justin - I am completely envious and I can't find a nit. A wonderful image with great textures and light - the lichens at the base of the shroom are perfect. Print it big and hang it proud!!!

You've got a great backdrop for this mushroom, plenty of detail and a good job of cramming it all into the the JPEG, I know too well how easy it is to lose detail when downsizing and JPEGing something with this amount of detail. I've always been a fan of "moss scapes" the formations you can get in moss and lichen are amazing.

Justin,

I can see why you were attracted to this one, how could you not have been. Walking in the woods and finding this is like hitting the lottery, well maybe not that good. Anyway, just a beautifully composed shot with superb lighting. Just love the way the m'room is nestled within the surrouding moss, a feast for the eyes. :toast: :toast:

Hi Justin
Quite simply a really excellent shot that it’s been my pleasure to view. The Lichen really adds a nice splash of colour and is the icing upon the cake.

Regards
Matthew

Beautiful! Just wondering where the fairies are? It looks like it is the backdrop for a fairy tale illustration. I love it.

Looks like a Boletus species, the variety and detail in the moss is great, I like the little sprig of lichen and the boletus itself is pretty grand!
