Lapwing(Green Plover)

I've posted this to show one of the problems with pool photography which has been my main "thing" for 40+ years or so.
On a small pool you arrange your perches for the finches etc and smaller stuff, then all of a sudden a bird like a lapwing turns up out of the blue. No problem except that it sits right in front of a perch put in for the smaller stuff.
Can't win em all !.
D200
Sigma 50-500mm.
400 ISO
640 sec F8
70% crop
Levels
EV down 1and contrast down in camera to avoid blown whites.(notorious problem with Lapwings.)

Cheers

We should all be cursed with a beautiful bird like this showing up at our shoots. I do wished you had dropped down a bit and given us a lower angle. Still a very nice image.

Thanks Angela
With a permanent hide its difficult to alter things as it,s set up for "average" conditions The grass gets a bit mushy if I go lower too.

Hello John.

Lovely natural looking image and I like the POV as it helps to show the habitat.
