Common Yellowthroat

These really are pretty common, but they don't often give you this good a look. This guy was on the sunny side of a hedge row in the early morning and must have been soaking in the sun. He flew from perch to perch, pausing long enough sing before moving on. I watched him repeat this pattern long enough to anticipate where his next perch might be. I thrilled to get him singing, and I thought the 'X' formed by the braches was pretty cool too. This is full frame, thus its a bit more centered than I would have liked.

Great catch of a bird that is rarely in the open!
Wonderful pose and eye, and nice environment!

This is great Jeff. Love the singing pose and the habitat. Great light and nice DOF. Bird is sharp. Well done.

Beautiful image and great detail. Very nice light. Don't worry about the "common". Your common is someone else's "rare" or "never seen". I like the crossing of the perch. I'd really be tempted to clone out the limb at the top and give him a clear space to look in to.

Nice details and colors Jeff, like this singing pose also. Had my first encounter with this one recently - It's a cool looking warbler eh
Since this is full frame, I might've opted for a minor crop with a bit off the RT and bottom, just a thought.
Well done :toast:

Great singing pose and good job getting this close. Because it's full frame, you could play with various crops. I would be tempted to try to remove the oof branch at top left. Neat capture. :toast:

Very nicely captured Jeff. If it were mine I might be tempted to crop it a bit tighter eliminating the branch at the top and some of the space behind the bird. That being said this is still a very nice post.
