New Zealand

A follow-up to my previous shot "Fragments" with a different foreground. Icebergs and smaller pieces of ice from the Tasman glacier with morning light hitting the peak of Mount Cook and surrounding peaks of the southern Alps.

Canon 5DMkII, 16-35mm 2.8L, GND filter, blend of 2 exposures.

Very nice! The piece of ice in the foreground looks great and I also like the looks of the water a lot. The light on the mountain sets this off very nice, along with its reflection. Looks like an awesome place to me.

The ice structure in the fg is fantastic. It adds so much to the scene and composition. Excellent shot Kah Kit.

This is excellent! The foreground here is so much more dynamic, and "alive". This comp solves any nits I had with the previous shot. I don't know if these are the same bergs or not, but the translucency is evident here, that's nice.

Kah Kit, your image makes me feel like standing in the middle of this scene, a great experience! The way you counterpoint the tangible piece of ice in the foreground to the warming light on the mountains in the background contributes a lot of tension, I perceive it like a dialogue. Fascinating work to my eye!

That ice in the foreground looks like glass...totally beautiful scene, even without clouds. Gives everything a very clean appearance.

I am seeing a wee bit of green fringing on those peaks on the larger version. Should be easy enough to remedy.

The ice is very sculptural in the foreground. I like the whole scene. Excellently managed light as always.

Kah Kit,

Excellent landscape image with all the right parts. Great comp with a nice foreground element and the near/far works with the beautiful light on the mountains. Great job with the processing as well. No nits from me.
