In the golden light

I went out yesterday in the evening to shoot the cityscape of my place (peoria,Illinois)on Illinois river... instead, found the patterns on the river in the golden light to be sparkling and amazing .. saw these two little fellows swimming rt next to the sparkles, adding to the beauty...

Shot this with a sigma 70-300 on 7D
F/8 ISO 640

This is really pretty - very serene and soothing. I might consider cropping a little off the right side.

Thanks Bill for the feedback.. Thought of your suggestion but the ripple on the water of the small duck would be bit incomplete.. what do you say.. is the ripple effective enough ?

Wow, this is wonderful. What a great moment you've captured. The sparkles on the water are lovely and couldn't be any better had to made them up in PS.... ;-) But of course you didn't and this is just special; great timing. To me, it's such a great nature story too. Looks to me like little duckling chasing after mama, but hard to tell they could be mates as well.

If anything, I might shave just a tad off the bottom to make it more of a pan format, but that's just a minor suggestion.

I love this.

Hi Lon,
Replicating nature is the hardest thing to do and ya u r rt the duckling was following her mamma..The full resolution shows the features of the duckling..I was amazed by the patterns in the river, luckily these two popped in the picture :)
This was shot at 1/3200 ..
