Taken back in 2007 close to were I live in New Market Virginia. A site known as the "Battle Of New Market" during the Civil War. It is part of history and a great tourist spot.

Canon 30D, 24-105L @ 105mm, 1/125sec, iso100, f/4, Handheld, converted to B&W in CS5.

C&C welcome.

Dave, I like the conversion to B&W. Gives this a traditional look consistent with the subject. I also like the lower perspective as well as the carpet of clover. Nicely done.

The black and white works very well with this image, giving it the look of a historical image.

The vignette works great on this photo and really enhances the b/w conversion. I grew up in the Northern Virginia area and this photo brings back a lot of memories about the solemnity and sacred beauty of all the battlefields.

Two things really stand out for me in this shot. Excellent composition, and beautiful processing. The image is subtle and beautiful - and it makes the most of a compelling scene. Gorgeous!
