WC484 Garden of the Gods

Garden of the Gods is a local icon along the Colorado front range. Some locals call it a mini-Moab. Several years ago, I was lucky to get there for Easter sunrise after an over-night storm hit Colorado Springs.

A wonderful thing about photographing during a clearing snow storm is how it extends your shooting time because of the natural 'fill light' and clouds breaking up the contrast.

Beautiful! The colours are wonderful, and the textured snow really sets off the red rocks.
I only wish the left side was a little brighter.
Still, just great as is.

Beautiful. I've been to Garden of the Gods a few times but never in the snow. In this image, the snow adds a dimension and keeps this scene fresh. Really nice

Just beautiful. I like the light variations across the image. I think we are getting a bit too much of the trees framing the sides. I vote for a bit more contrast.

Very nice image. The reds really stand out in the snow and you handled the whites very well. I have been to the Garden of the Gods a few times, but never lucky enough to be there after a snow. I like this image a lot. Good work.

Very nice, much prettier than when I visited in March this year. The red rocks really stand out against the snow.

Bill, that's a picture postcard shot. The intermittent light really sets it off. I also like the way you've framed it - I wonder what it would look like if you cropped the left side in so the tree forms the border? A very pretty contrast.

Hi Bill,
What a beautiful place!
I like the composition and how the red rocks contrast against the snow, I see the foreground a little OOF and I find that a little distracting.

The slightly out of focus foreground is the only thing that bothers me about this shot. Its a beautiful location, and the lighting conditions are winderful. The snow adds a uniqueness that I really love. Nice job, Bill.
