John,

Looks like this is one of your favorite spots and you certainly caught a nice sunset here. I like the composition as I did with your earlier post from here. I think I had mentioned trying this location in the morning as well to perhaps get some different light on the old log. Fortunately here the contrails in the sky have dissipated enough to make for some interesting patterns.

I know you still may feel new around here, but don't be shy and don't hesitate about jumping in and posting a comment or two on some other images. thanks for posting and we look forward to more.

Nice scene here, John. I like your composition pretty well. It's too bad about the contrails although they do actually bring out some of the color in the sky. Looks like a very peaceful moment.

I would add to Lon's suggestion about posting comments on other's images. Most of the time I feel inadequate offering a critique to many of the fine photographer's on NPN. But I can definitely say that posting comments and analyzing other's images has helped me think more critically about the compositional and technical elements in my own work. Even if you don't feel "qualified" to offer a technical critique you can chime in with your subjective emotional reaction to a photo--maybe this just means that you comment about what you like in other's photos. You will be surprised how this helps you learn more because it will make you more conscious about elements in your own photos. Another idea is to comment on photos from photographers who you perceive to be at your skill level so you can learn from each other. I usually try to comment more on images with fewer comments. Anyway, just some suggestions. You will find that you will receive more feedback as you post more comments.
