Something Beautiful

Receding water in a pebble beach at sunset. The golden reflection of the light was really beautiful. From a distance it was alluring but even more so when you dive into the details. Larger image added and a crop showing the fine details.

Your feedback is appreciated.

mesmerizing, disorienting. i feel something to give one's eyes relief from the dazzling light would be welcome! i think (but couldn't really be sure) that the lower left is OOF and distracts somewhat as a result. great textures and challenging abstraction.

Thanks for the feedback Stuart. It is sharp throughout, the texture changed as you moved towards the lower left. The rushing water started to settle in that part of the frame.

Wow Youssef - this is an eye and a mind bender! I'm right there with Stuart's comments; disorientating to say the least. I can catch the reality of the pebbles at the very bottom, but the moment I start moving my eye upward, all reality goes out the window and all of a sudden I feel like I'm looking at some wild sky, definitely something that is above me - not in front of me or moving away like I would expect looking outward on a beach toward the surf. This is truly bizarre - and in a positive way. Absolutely fascinating.

Is this upside down?

The sparkling details of the crop is a whole different image - and one that I would love to see larger too. The light is stunning and beautifully showcased in the more detailed crop.

Curious to hear other reactions. yikes.

I love it Youssef. Would look great printed large. The only thing I might change would be to increase overall brightness a bit to really make it glow.

I like the detail crop a little better since there is less to take in and is more easily managed visibly. Both are stunning abstracts.

At web size, the small one doesn't do it for me, but the sparkles in the crop, are just outstanding. Next time I'd suggest trying to compose a shot of just a sparkly patch like that! Printed very large the uncropped image could very well work too.
