I sincerely hope that posting this here does not result in the same fate as it did on the other place.

Whilst not technically perfect in anyway I think the poses are quite amusing.

Taken in Daroji Bear Sanctuary, Karnataka, India, 2nd April, 2010

EOS 1D MkIII

70-200 F2.8 MkII at 200mm from vehicle

ISO, 800, F5.6, 1/640

A window into the world of bears and their boulders for sure. I cant make up my mind on the presence of the second bear. But am leaning towards it not being there. Techs look spot on.

HI Ken. This is a shot that speaks clearly of the curiosity of bears in general and cubs in particular. The warm light helps keep down the contrast and potential distractions of the rock being too light. I agree with Anand that the second bear does not add much, but then it doesn't hurt too much either. With his head lost behind the rock it kinda adds to the message of bears searching for something.

Hi Anand and Julia,

Unbelievable! If I hadn't have read Anand's words I'd probably still be seeing that second Bear as the hole in the rock I originally seen it to be when I clicked open this post ...... and I call myself observant ... how the heck I get to see anything for myself while out in the field is beyond me - Doh! ;^p

Now that I can clearly see it's a Bear though, can't decide whether I preferred it as a rock or not ;^)

Main things I like about this image is the warm lighting and, as Julia also suggests, the emotional appeal of these inquisitive Bears. Must have been fun watching them and wondering what they'd get up to next. Thanks for sharing Ken :^)

Hi Ken,

Nice shot - I think the second bear does work - not distracting from the scene, but it would be nice to have seen his face...

This is an interesting image with sweet color of light. I am not sure how I feel having the lower left animal with its head obscured. I find that a little distracting as I study the image, but then again in terms of overall design it adds to the composition by emphasizing repeating lines and shapes. Techs look great.

Very nice. Warm colors are lush and I think the partial bear is a good touch. I think spelling everything out in any art is often a mistake.
