Hello everybody,
here another Grebes shot. I like this one for two reasons: the family atmosphere and the interaction between the adult and the baby.
In that moment the Grebes were a bit more in distance compared to the previous shots, so this image is about a 40% of the original.

40D 700mm
f7,1 1/1600
ISO 400

Thanks for viewing.
C&C are very welcome.

Love the behavior, it's well seen in the larger version Monica. Held up nicely against the crop too..
I like this a bunch for the very same two reasons, it's what nature photography is all about
Well done! :toast:

Wonderfully warm and intimate moment you captured here Monica, lots of emotional appeal :^)

Although probably most will see this as fine the way it is, if this were mine I think I'd place the subject just a little higher up in the frame, which I assume is possible looking at the crop you made. I'd also apply noise reduction of some kind to the background and remove the very small piece of reed that's touching the edge of the lower portion of the left-hand side of the frame.

None of these are really major distractions, just a few thoughts on how I think this excellent image could be enhanced a little more :^)

A wonderful moment in time. A photo with wildlife behaving like this is the finest use of photography in my opinion. You must have spent significant time with these birds. Stupendous! :jump: :jump: :jump:

Special image with so much to it.. The low angle, the bahaviour of the chicks on the adults back, the beautiful colors and the food being supplied. Very nice indeed. The only minute distraction for me are the few grasses sticking out on the lower left. Very well done.

Monica,
great emotions come from this shot, I'm just wandering if all that BG is necessary. But in any case, this is very appealing.

Cheers, Luca

Monica:
I like it for the same reasons you do. It's one of those scenes that evokes an emotional response before you have time to examine the technical aspects of the photo. :toast:
