Go lightly on the land

In Tanzania, the Massai are allowed to live and graze their herds in national preserves because of their non-invasive lifestyle. Although they have modernized to some extent (herders might be using cell phones) their impact on the land is generally harmonious with nature. This area is in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area on the outskirts of the Ngorongoro Crater National Park.

Taken in May, Nikon D300, Nikkor 70-200mm VRII @70mm, 1/100s @f8 ISO 200;

Wonderful color Margaret. I wish there was more room at the top (but not a big deal) but overall a wonderful M&N image . Excellent image depicting our impact or lack of in this case.

I agree with Eva on the moor room at the top, or even crop out the sky completely. I do like the colors and thought that went into this capture Margaret. Well seen and captured.

Thanks, Eva and Robert. I have a similar photo with a little different framing - more room at the top. (http://msummersphoto.com/2011/05/landscapes-of-tanzania-2/) I debated which to post. I thought the light might be a little better on the one I posted (it was changing a lot). The scene was just "there" as we came around a corner; around the next corner was the village.
