Another one from the weekend. I've put a different image in the larger version which is virtually full frame whereas this version has been cropped. I'm not sure which one I prefer.

ISO 800 f7.1 1/320 exp comp -2/3

cheers
Rob

Hi Rob: Very nice. I looked at the larger version and I prefer the cropped version you've posted here. Wonderfully detailed capture.

What a great BG to get this fella with nice perch. I too prefer the crop version here, without one more branch on the side.

The soft light really brings out the nice colors in the bird. Great detail in the blacks as well.

Perfect diffuse light to get detail in all colour tones, pose, perch background - excellent.

Nice soft light here Rob - did you use fill flash at all?
I like your cropped smaller version better, but do feel you lost some sharpness on the bird either through you slow-ish shutter speed or through focus point selection (in the larger image the perch appears way sharper than the bird's head and eye). :frown:

Lovely little bird nicely exposed to show detail throughout. Attractive perch and really like that background. I prefer the cropped version Rob. Graham

Good looking bird. Great colors, nice textures in the perch, and I like that big, bright eye.
